...make your guesses before you peek...

1) Cowley
2) Cranford
3) Coombe
4) Child's Hill
5) Chelsea
6) Colney Hatch
7) Camberwell
8) Coney Hall
9) Clayhall
10) Collier Row

How well did you do?

4 - the two obvious inner South London ones, Cranford from staying in airport hotels near there and Coney Hall because I used live 5 minutes walk from there
All ten - helped by their distribution being slightly weighted to the south and west.
Coombe is obscure to me, the others not, so I could tell where it was by default. ...
Got them all, but only because Cowley used to have a station, so I knew where it was.

Of course so did Camberwell - it also had a pointless one way system which was scrapped after a couple of years.

Colney Hatch is 'famous' because of the North Circular - so it gets mentioned in traffic reports, until the early 70s there was no underpass here.
Numbers 5 - 10 correct, from prior knowledge. The others I guessed.. all incorrectly.
No problem for me completing your map.
10/10 - easy if you know your bus routes.
10/10, but Coney Hall only by process of elimination.

@ Still anon - What did the pointless Camberwell one way system look like?? Was it a gyratory round the green? The vogue now of course is for removing these ill conceived schemes (expect Crystal Palace where such a scheme was recently installed just as others were starting to be removed).
6/10 - Would not have got Coombe if I hadn't fallen in love with Elizabeth from Coombe County Secondary School aboard "Dunera" in 1963! The missed ones were 4, 8,9, and 10. I lived in Uxbridge in the 80's.

Thanks for your tireless work DG. I try not to check the day's blog too early so I get to see a good number of comments while here. So thanks to the commmentators as well!
7/10 Could do better.
Colney Hatch does have a station; it's now called New Southgate, but was originally Colney Hatch & Southgate and had various permutations of names over the years. It's right next to what used to be Colney Hatch mental hospital, though.
6/10. Missed 3, 8, 9 & 10. Never heard of them!
Thought Coombe sounded like it should have been near Croydon! Maybe because of Addiscombe?
Only 7/10 for me....
7/10 for me as well which seems to be about average.

Four were nailed on, three were educated guesses.
Lorenzo

As you guessed, the Camberwell one way system was some confection based around the green, I think east - west traffic was left alone, southbound traffic had to go round the green, Denmark Hill was still two-way, but towards Brixton from the north, Coldharbour Lane was only accessible from Daneville Road.

I think it only lasted 5 or 6 years in the late 60s/early 70s.

All except Clayhall and Cowley.
Well In getting 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10 right must mean I don't know much about the other "half" of London.
8/10, 9 and 10 being off my brain map.
Only 3 for me - judging by the other scores perhaps I need to go to DG school...
10 out of 10, but I do know a lot about bus routes.

The Camberwell one-way system lasted just over 20 years, round the Green from 16/2/64 to 2/4/84. The direct turn from Denmark Hill to Coldharbour Lane was restored on 3/4/84, but the Orpheus Street & Daneville Road diversion was restored on 13/2/02 and still applies. Traffic from Peckham towards Walworth Road was diverted via Grove Lane and Daneville Road into Denmark Hill from 16/2/64 to 17/2/79.
A mere four I'm afraid, the obvious Chelsea and Camberwell, Cranford because the Picc line briefly rises up to the surface to cross the River Crane near Heathrow, and Clayhall was a lucky guess through elimination.

Coombe was a stinker because I was misled by Coombe Road which was a real station before Tramlink came along.

Must try harder !
7/10 from existing knowledge. 1, 4, & 8 I didn't know and didn't try to guess.
8 - had the two Halls (8&9) the wrong way round. Have to admit I wasn't sure on 1 & 2 either.
8-ish with a bit of guessology. Good game.
I got 9 I think

dg writes: It's impossible to score 9 :)
There are two Coombes though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coombe,_Croydon
Same as Lorenzo above - all 10 but Coney Hall by elimination
Yes but the Croydon Coombe is a long way from any of the blobs (the nearest one is in LB Bromley, 4 miles away)

BTW, it is possible to get 9/10, if you hedge your bets and give the same answer to two of the questions
10/10 correct. Well, I did live in London or thereabouts from 1957-2013
