Yes, I am still a male from the London area, and I definitely now rather older than I used to be.
Curious as to *how* you're going to try not to lose any more of the laydeez ... (apart from more kittens, obvs).
The results for question 4 are meaningless because those who do not read daily are likely to have missed the survey.
I trust you're not implying "a nostalgic wallow" is a bad thing.
While the total number of respondents did not grow as much as between previous surveys, there's still an uptick. Encouraging and impressive!
A week time reader here (male, 30-39, London, often, 2010-13, computer, no blog), that logs on to your site first thing each work day!
So, given the preponderance of answers in certain answers for each question, what were the top three combined profiles? And, other than the two first timers, did anyone provide an unique set of answers? Thanks.
The 'nostalgic wallow' or 'safe space' in modern speak.
When I started reading, I lived in London, and over the years have progressed to home counties to rest of England to Europe.

But am I still "from London"? I think I am, in my head, at least partially
I missed the survey as I tend to not read it so much at weekend but catch up on a Monday morning. Interestingly I would have said that I do read the blog every day although clearly I don't!
What was the percentage response from the number of people who read your blog each day as if it was low you are measuring not your readership but the profile of those people who are prepared to fill in a questionnaire - and that’s only if they have answered it truthfully!
Those who ticked "neither" to the gender, might not be binary, but rather "prefer not to say".
They might, but there was also the option not to answer the question, which two people chose to do.
I stand corrected
I wish the Census published its findings this quickly!!
Proud to be one of the 2% that are under 20, it's always fascinating to read your blog every morning on the bus into school. Been here since I was 10/11.
It wouldn't take much to allow posts to be easier to share on Facebook and Twitter, though your template troubles re: mobile screens and Google algorithms might suggest a new template, rather than tweaks to the current one, would be needed.

I one of your "not in the UK" readers. But I lived in London for 16 years, and visited regularly before and after that period. I consider it my second home.

You might find that many of your 16% overseas readers have roots or connections to London.

Steve
One of the 12% and enjoy your blog very much so will take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU.
Fascinating info! I would suggest, however, that as the period the survey was open included the Equinox, there is a raised likelihood that occasional readers would have tuned in - the postings on solstices and equinoxes being one of the Blog's most characteristic and engrossing topics. Although not this time though!
I answered q6 as computer but it is not strictly accurate as i view on on whatever device i have closest at hand at the time i decide to view your blog. this is primarily computer as I am at my workdesk when you publish during the week. But at weekends or holidays im more likely to view via phone or Tablet. you really should have a category for all 3 in your next survey.
I used to live in the UK London up until 1963. On a trip to London for pleasure I looked for any information that would give me a better feel of London.
DG was the site which over time always gave first class information which was NOT in the guide books.
Since 2002 I have visited daily, I am always staggered by the wide range of subjects, and the constant high quality of the posts.
Add one more ageing cis-het honky to reinforce or bust your stats; been a daily visitor since the beginning and still reading it on a computer, though in that time I've moved out of town. Always loved your kindness, wry wit and good sense; long may it continue!
I am a very average and typical DG reader!
I fall in the world category though I am a Londoner by birth. Your blog is one of my ways of staying current with my home town.
Good observation about bloggers - I was inspired when I first starting reading your blog to start one of my own but I've not the dedication and stopped it after about 2 posts. I doubt I will ever be able to answer that question yes again.
Another "weekday reader" here, so missed the survey - it's been pretty much my workday routine for the past however many years to read DG while having my lunch. Sadly no longer strictly local to the area, so it can be interesting to see updates from Bow and see what's changing!
Looks like I'm a typical reader in every way except for the fact I live 8 000 miles away from London in Hanoi; it's now 32 years since I last lived in London and nearly 2 since I last visited.
This census data excludes visitors who visit on weekends only.
The number of "but you didn't count me" comments is very much in line with previous years.
I am a very average and typical DG reader!
Be assured that your "reports from Beckton, Bow and Bishopsgate" are exactly why I am coming back every day. Best wishes from Germany!
One of the 12% here. I discovered DG while living in E3 2008-2010, and I am sure I would think far less frequently of the area if it weren't for having stuck with this blog for the decade since I moved away.
Feel like I'll be a DG lifer!
Missed the site census but have been a semi regular reader for past two months having been tipped off by another hyperlocal blog.
I really enjoy others’ blogs about London life and exploring it. Your slant is more than usually oblique. A good thing.
Has actually made me think about why I don’t blog (several stalled attempts previously) and think it’s about time I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and got on with it
