Seems criminal that Stratford International is so quiet - anyone know if they plan on introducing Oyster from St Pancras to there any time soon?
I had no idea you couldn't get to Stratford International with an Oyster card. I knew you had to pay extra to do so, but assumed it could be done on an Oyster (like the Dangleway).
The photos of the Aquatics Centre seating wings without sides are quite striking!

Shame to see the wrap go, I really grew to love the way it looked different from every angle, and how it hid the full spectrum of colours on the reverse of the white strips until you were fairly near.
I was in John Lewis 2012 shop last week They were still selling tons of 2012 tea cosies for £2 and they had many toy cars/concordes/tubes left at £5 down from £10. Also the outside mall of Westfield has been relandscaped since the Olympics with a lot of outside seating now there are no longer crowds going to the Olympic Park. Not sure what was the rush to do this. Did they not realise that Winter was coming up.
Planning permission was granted in 2002 for the building on Warton Road to be knocked down and replaced by 14 flats. For some reason (Olympic-related?) the scheme was never started and the permission lapsed.

There is a current application to the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation for 44 flats, with 13% affordable housing (subject to negotiation).
Correction to my last comment:- the original plan did not involve complete demolition of the building, but conversion with an extra floor on the top.
2002: application for 14 flats
2012: application for 44 flats

That's fairly indicative of how things are going round here.
"Marshgate Lane..Once the main route in for Olympic construction traffic". Not correct. This was the access for light traffic and only a small proportion of heavy traffic. 50% of light traffic and the majority of HGVs were routed in from the A12/Lea Interchange.
Let me change one word.

""Marshgate Lane..Once a main route in for Olympic construction traffic""
Given how quickly new transport infrastructure in London usually becomes congested (for example London Overground) it's quite some achievement to build a station that remains underused.
Cherry Park was called Cherry Park during the Olympics. When I was a Games Maker based in the Olympic Park, we would check in for our shifts there.
