I love my iPhone but they are expensive. Get the right deal and switch to a cheaper tariff as soon ad you can. You will probably find you usage patterns changing to match what you can do. I had a very old phone until I got the iPhone about a year ago and until then had only used it very occasionally for the odd phone call, but now find myself listening to podcasts, sending texts and surfing the web on the move. Mobile google and maps are very useful too.

The iPhone 4S' camera is staggeringly good. Unfortunately it's not a cheap option (and won't be at least until October, when it's likely to be replaced). Three and Tesco are much better value than Orange.

The key decision is probably network quality - try http://ukmobilecoverage.co.uk/. Samsung is the leader right now for Android phones, but HTC has some good options too.

You might want a manufacturer who offers online storage for data. Mine did and I didn't use it. I lost all my data and couldn't recover it :-( That was a real blow.

I have T-Mobile, and I have always had T-Mobile, so I don't really know, but customer service at T-Mobile has always been nice to me.

iPhones are good if you can bear the upfront cost. You don't have to go with the 4S though, as the iPhone 4 (and even the 3S) are still widely available, and they're significantly cheaper.

Sony/Sony-ericssons have to my mind the best placed camera button, its placed on the right hand side so you can operate it single handed
the iphone has the button close to the top on the left which means covering most of the image with your right hand to operate the cam button with your thumb plus gripping the back for dear life in case it drops or using it 2 handed. using it left handed would be easier, but counter to how most cameras operate

Many people say they've never heard of Huawei, because they usually manufacture phones on behalf of other companies/brands. Now you can get them, without the expensive branding, and at a lower price.

All same dot com. Get one you like the knobs on. Depends if you want flip, touch screen etc.
