Surprised that you didn't mention the 1960s(?) Hatfield Swim Centre - located directly adjacent to Asda - which has a lightweight hyperbolic paraobloid roof, and was one of the first and largest of its kind in Europe. I believe it is a 'listed' structure.

I've been to Hatfield more times in the last year than in the whole of my life, thanks to one of the offspring choosing it for their University education!

So now I know what shopping centre it is that the A1 tunnel goes under, thanks DG. Looks very bland. Old Hatfield looks rather lovely.

The 614 Unobus route is a legacy product, linking Queensbury with the University of Hertfordshire (De Havilland College as was) in Hatfield. It's jolly handy for a car-free Stag Lane resident!

Did you ask for permission to take a photo inside the Galleria? Or did they intercept you when you came in with a camera?
As well as the central Asda, there is a massive Tesco on the northern edge of Hatfield, on the side towards Welwyn, sucking the life out of the traditional town centre.
As far as I can see from searching Historic England's website, the swim centre is not listed.
Incidentally, you got to Old Hatfield - perhaps Old Welwyn next timw?

@Andrew - DGs photos include a shot down the High Street in Welwyn (not 'Old Welwyn') which indicates that he must have visited.
