Another 15 but unrelated to London is the number or jurors in a Scottish court. I suspect this is mostly to make it (almost?) impossible to have a hung jury (and don't forget our lovely 'not proven' verdict)

I was called up for jury service once but the trial never happened so I don't know what it would've been like.

Hope you like sitting around in a large waiting room with a bunch of strangers all day, for days on end, hoping you get called up! It's a good chance to catch up on some reading, though...

(Although, when I finally did get onto a jury and inside a courtroom, the whole experience became absolutely fascinating & immensely thought-provoking...)

So far Mike, that rather sums up my experience of the waiting process. I hope I get to do the thought-provoking stuff eventually.

How powerful that you could end an expensive trial with just one sentence here...

Don't worry, I have no intention of ending up being the one with the sentence

Leith, where I live, is an incredibly guilty place.

Q: What do you call a Leith man in court?

A: The accused.

I bookmarked your blog when I first came here on June 5th 2014. Trouble is, I bookmarked a particular article, so every time I arrive I get to check that Morden South is still london's sixth least used station. I know that page very well now.
