I will now abandon any half-hearted idea I had to write about this once the new station had opened. You have described it much better than I could.

I hope you will report the opening of the new station in equal style.
The tastiest station on the tube map for sure.
Wasn't there a passing loop installed on this section of line after the DLR opened, but before the old station was built?
I distinctly remember Pudding Mill Lane appearing on the Tube maps, and thinking it was a romantic, fairytale name. Then I visited it.
Spooky that you should write about Pudding Mill Lane, I went there last Saturday to photograph it (because of its imminent existence failure) and came away with almost identical set of photos!
Nice write up BTW.
Scott - snap! I just had to visit it when I saw the name.
However, I was not fooled into thinking it would be one of London's hidden gems!
I used Pudding Mill Lane station on Sunday and saw the "station due to close" signs and immediately thought to myself "Diamond Geezer will be here this week then!"
I see the new station opens on the proposed day of an RMT strike so presumably Boris won't be there doing the honours?
Stratford South does not exist in the source so should be removed.
