Everyone seemed rather taken aback by the popularity of the place, it was a very friendly and civilised queue. It was nice to see such a wide range of visitors, both in age and culture.

DG-stalkers should note that I actually appear in today's photo on Ham's London Daily Photo blog. Click the photo to enlarge it. But I'm very small. And I'm not the man in the top hat.

Very pleasing to see crowds. I will have to have a look when I get the chance.

And half an hour later La Lobster was seen lurking about...the kitchen bits were the most interesting. There were a couple of ladies in period dress helping kiddie winkles with their iced heart arrangements on the biscuits. Plus a ghostly Ernie in the dairy:
