Neither had I, but it answers a question I had. There was a large pipe on the street I used to live on in Shepherd's Bush. It is now clear that it was a stink pipe.
Now I need to work out if it is from an exciting lost river or a less exciting large sewer! |

My old manor. I used to live just off the Askew Road, just inside Shepherd's Bush (yay!) rather than Acton (boo hiss).
Had the Central London Railway succeeded with their early-20th century plan to extend from Shepherd's Bush to Richmond, there would have been a station at Starch Green. That would have put it firmly on the modern map. THC |
