I nominate the Pure Digital EVOKE-1 digital radio as it sounds cool

The Pure Digital EVOKE-1 digital radio is indeed very cool - that's why I already have one

Those are ten gadgety things I already have, to give you some idea of what sorts of other things you might want to nominate.

Although Besty, you were in fact much closer to the truth than you realised...

Retail therapy - symptoms worsen

I went un-shopping today.

One of my ten gadgets has stopped working, so I had to take it back to Oxford Street for a replacement under its guarantee. Alas, this particular gadget is very sold out, so I'm now waiting for them to get some new stock in.

Despite window-shopping along Oxford Street and all of the electrical section of Tottenham Court Road, I failed to spot even one other thing I wanted to buy today, and so I managed to return home with less than I started out with.

Please nominate something consumerist and gadgety for my birthday present, before my retail abilities fade away to absolutely nothing.

Are you talking about your digital radio?
'cause Argos have them listed but maybe not in stock.

For Christmas I was given a sandwich toaster than moos. Faintly disturbing really, but strangely irresistible.

Appearing at an Argos near you, I assume that's where the parents got it from.

I may well be talking about my digital radio - well spotted. And not one Argos in the country has them in stock, I asked...

Damn

Mind you...
I seem to remember that I saw them in the window of Sevenoaks in Aberdeen but that was last summer :-(
Seem to recall seeing them in John Lewis here too and they can do branch transfers I think.

but you probably checked them too.

a voice activated remote control £79 off www.iwantoneofthose.com ...
perfect for couch potatoes who cant move from their sofa except for stretching for the Pringles, billy-no-mates who have no one to talk to but their domestic appliances, and tech heads who can never have too many batteries :o)

they also do a wind-up mobile phone charger for a tenner

Cheers Paul, So, it's currently between a sandwich toaster that moos and a voice activated remote control. Anybody care to add to the list?

I got a sandwich maker shaped like a cow ... but it's pitifully silent

I'm savng myself till last.

- on the basis that less is more I recommend a Mathmos tumbler or two.
www.mathmos.co.uk/modern/index.html
Just the thing to channel your Chi around that heavy electrical lifestyle

OH NO! I came in early today to get on with work and then I saw the 'Iwantoneofthose' website. Thanks...

I so need a teardrop torch keyring, digital camera binoculars and a gecko soap dispenser.

And helloooo breathing cat. DG - Breathing Cat is surely a goer for your retail therapy?

An electronic pencil sharpener?

"Thankfully there are a few other channels that are actually worth watching." - VICIOUS LIES!

oh, and i'd recommend a swanky digiradio too; hurrah!

A few.
Not many.
I quite enjoy watching BBC Radio 7.

Argos got fined for price-fixing. I saw it on the News. Especially Action Men and Monopoly.

I suggest a powerful 35W.......wellington boot drier and warmer. www.shiresofbath.co.uk for a very reasonable £29.99. You could even buy a couple for your spare wellies then when the first pair are cold and damp you can run across the fields (OK A40)back home to swap them for a fresh warm pair. Go on you know it makes sense...

Ah! I wondered why Mr BW had torn that bit out of my catalogue. Now I know! I was hoping it was to be a present for me. DAMN.

BTW, you have to excuse Mr BW, his geography is shite. Since when did the A40 run anywhere near E3?!!!

I found another way that you could get a replacement DAB radio. Write a 'letter of the week' to the Radio Times
