Whilst it doesn't have the roundabout, CS7 is similarly useless with moving blue strips that in some cases disappear completely. Not that TfL seem to be planning to do anything about it. because they can't.

Super highway? Nothing of the sort. All hype and no substance.
Just like Boris, then?

There's a good example of how the traffic lights at the roundabout can be misunderstood in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtSEiBr1IV4
Great review; as you say a cheer required, followed by very close attention to what TfL actually do once they've garnered the praise.
I've no idea why we keep pandering to these bloody cyclists in the first place.

You can waste as much taxpayers' money as you like on ridiculous schemes like this, but it won't get them off the pavement, and it won't stop them plowing through red lights and crossings.

Face it, half of them cycle about 100 yards then take their bike on the first rush hour train that comes along.

An outright ban on cycling in the capital would probably be the best solution for everyone.
Why are the Cycle Superhighways blue, when cycle paths elsewhere are red?

What MORON allowed parking on the cyclepath? Apparently it's allowed in Portsmouth too, or was!

I'll stick to TfL or Shank's pony when in London, thanks very much.
They're blue - supposedly - to improve visibility over the red ones.

But going against the grain from all over cycle lanes in the country doesn't make much sense to me.
I thought they were blue because they were sponsored by Barclays like the Boris Bikes.
I think that's what you call a "happy" coincidence.
This new Cycle Superhighway along Stratford High St uses one third of the total road space and a lot of money spent for very few cyclists that will actually use it. Totally OTT and pandering to the minority again. I cycled to work along there for 20 years and never had a problem, but then I was a careful considerate cyclist that never thought I owned the road or went through red lights (I was always pleased with the rest). These superhighways lull cyclists into a false sense of security and will never be safe, better of without them. Also what fool is allowing cycling on the pavement? Ridiculous!
Simon, seeing as people were using bicycles way before cars arrived, I propose to eliminate the minor blip in history of cars in London. That would equally solve the problem.
Its not about cars vs cyclists. That is a distraction to avoid the real issue.

Its about governments providing roadways and cycleways of a sufficient and robust standard that allows its population to safely use its roads without serious injury and death.

At the moment, we do not have this, and for a Western civilised democracy, and for an apparently global city, its just shameful to London. Shame on the Conservatives that they have not built enough to respond to the increase in cycling over the last few years.

Its about investing in public services which is not something this governement or mayor wants to do right now, instead its all continuously 'just around the corner'. If Ken had been in power instead of that Boris lazy-arse, he would have had many more lanes in operation now, and he'd have had them working properly.

Instead we have a couple of crap lanes and a cable car and a promise of a billion pounds being spent on cycling 'just around the corner'. This country has gone down the pan the last few years.
