I do remember going to British Museum some time around 1960, and seeing the helmet. At the time I was not very impressed, I was expecting something like I had seen in the movie The Vikings.
The main thing I remember about that is how the archaeologists had to put the pieces of anchor chain together in a kind of three-dimensional jigsaw - I think it took them three years.
