Three days write-up of your visit to Westminster on Saturday and not a single mention of the Pride Event which seemed to dominate Westminster that day. Did you actually manage not to encounter this or was it not worth mentioning ?

dg writes: Westminster's a big place, and I spent a lot of my time visiting six different places well away from the 'action'. I did see some lorries collecting the safety barriers from Oxford Street at the end of the day, but I didn't think that was worth mentioning.

Thanks for reminding me about the Wallace Collection! I must go soon.

I like the Wallace Collection in theory, but in practice it seems to contain examples of just about every period of art I don't like. I suppose I should be grateful that they're all in the same place, so I can avoid them

Isn't Manchester Sq the site of the Beatles tower block? You know the one where they are looking over the balcony in the first album?

"And a quiet rant demanding that the nearby Bakerloo line station (and local bus stops) be renamed after the market to raise its public profile."

I do wish councillors would stop campaigning to rename tube stations on a commercialised local whim.
