Funny you should mention the photo machine. I used it in early 1990 to have a passport photo taken for a stolen Australian passport. I guess it was close to Australia house.

Presumably, Eskimo Pie, you mean that your passport had been stolen, rather than that you had stolen an Australian passport and were putting your picture in it. If the latter, it's a remarkably public confession!

I hope to get along tonight, pressure of work permitting. I look forward to seeing fellow geeks and nerds there...

I have yet to forgive the spouse for being "just too tired" (pah!) to attend a WW2 themed, advertising bash being held in the tunnels quite some years ago. Every time I pass by....every time...ggrrrr.

I went last night. Just me, several tube Geeks and one very confused Geordie Lady trying to catch a tube train.

The staff are very helpful and will even open up the secret door in the lift that allows you to step through from one lift into the other in case of failure - a marvel of Victorian design !

And while you're there, it's worthwhile to pop around the corner to see London's very own "Roman" bath. It's not really worth a special trip, but if you're in the area...

went down this evening, was most amused in the visitor/guest book, most people had written "can we get down to the platform level please?", all except for one nutter who took up two pages writing things like "i don't use tube or buses", "why are worksmen so noisy outside my house?", and "london's roads are full of cones". excellent!

I went last night too. Lots of people there of all ages, colours, shapes and sizes. One guy spent rather a long time moaning at the staff about how TfL should be spending money bringing the tube to Camberwell and Peckham, rather than upgrading the existing lines, but otherwise very good natured. Pretty interesting exhibition, too.
