I wonder what all of those 100 missing years of the Lynn Mart were lost to. Presumably wars for the most part!
"Bitterly cold" well that keeps me in.

Looks like a popular fair, nice to think that Spring is near.
When did you do this, as if it was on the 9th, you may have seen the Queen at King's Lynn station!
Tube Geek -
".. the event still opens annually on Valentine's Day (or, if that's a Sunday, the previous day).."
Well, you can get Advance tickets to Norwich for £9 (or even £8 from Cambridge to Norfolk via Liv St, if you know how to manipulate the booking engine) whereas the cheapest Kings Lynn ticket is £16 oneway.
@Frank F oh yes, didn't see that
Please read the post before asking silly questions, thank you.
Sorry!
Lovely written piece and good to see these sometimes rather absurd traditions continue.
I've been to Kings Lynn a few times and like the town. I never knew this went on though it's a rather fun tradition.
Some years ago we made a whole series of video clips at the Kings Lynn fair looking at the maths of the various rides and activities, like the trajectory of the rotating cars on the Booster ride, the probability of winning a prize by knocking down the tin cans, and the profit to be made from selling candy floss!
