It doesn't. Well, not here, anyway.
The Loop starts in Erith and finishes in Purfleet, only crossing the Thames halfway round in Kingston. |

I found that a surprisingly pleasant stretch of the Loop, splendidly isolated. The Diver has a touch of the Wicker Man about him too. |

To cross the river at Purfleet:
by bike, use the chauffeur service at the QE2 bridge/London Road. On foot, use X80 bus from Lakeside (or pretend to have a bike) |
