DG recommending Hackney Wicked is... quite cool :)
Having seen DGs piece the week before, I took my three grandsons (8, 13 and 15) to the park last Tuesday. Starting at Mitcham Junction we looped around London (Clapham Junction, Willesden Junction) to get to Hackney Wick for the approved DG starting point. We enjoyed the colourful route marking.

Not so enjoyable was the cafe which seemed badly organised (lots of small things that shouldn't happen if a bit of common sense is applied - 10 mins to get a cup of coffee is just one example) and a bit suspect in its stock control (customer behind me querying stale bread in the sandwiches)

By contrast, the playground areas were much enjoyed and we followed that with the guided tour of the Copper Box.
I was at the QEOP on Thursday afternoon, having also been there on the opening day and noitced you can now aso access a bit more. Where Waterden Road meets the link road from White Post Lane there is a sign directing wheelchair users over the bridge towards the stadium. I noticed a few people not in wheelchairs heading that way and I did have a pushchair so went to explore and it sends you on a loop back to White Post Lane. Nothing too exciting you basically go over the bridge where the food stalls and BBC studios were and get a close look up at the stadium and the building site where the spotty bridge was and then get looped back down where the McDonalds used to be. A nice little route if you want to get pictures of the stadium up close and say you can stand where Gary Lineker was last year.
Not often I get to out-pedant DG but malingerers are people pretending to be ill. People lingering around are just lingerers
