Lovely part of the world and one we know very well as my wife was brought up in The Mumbles.

Sadly, Swansea on the other hand has one downhill over the years.
If you have time, halfway between Mumbles and Swansea is Blackpill. Walk up the lane by The Woodman Pub to find the wonderful secret of Clyne Castle Gardens, home to the national collection of rhododendrons. The gardens are beautiful at any time of year. There's a wonderful view from the top of the park across the bay and to North Devon. I was priveleged to be a student living in hall for three years at Clyne Castle in the late sixties. Great days!
Dg, did you seriously go all the way to Wales for a day trip? Not even stay overnight somewhere. Then you could've included a nice B&B in your review.
“Geologists enthuse about Caswell...” And with good reason. Looking at your photos, those gigantic slabs of rock thrust up at an angle by unimaginable forces are very similar to the formations I saw when I once walked a few miles along the Pembrokeshire coast near St David’s.
Ahem, not your photo, I see, but the one linked to from "clearly".
Britain's wonderful network of long-distance footpaths are something I really miss now I live overseas; thanks DG for, at least, allowing me to enjoy them vicariously.
Looking forward to you covering the rest of the path round Wales in day trips!
