Is this "...because x" affectation a new thing? Am I missing a (no doubt amusing) cultural allusion of some sort? It is just a bit jarring, and seems to be turning into something of a habit. Just because.

Strawberry Hill House is actually Walpole House with extra additions by Lady Waldegrave. The former residents always called it Walpole House.
