You finally found the place in England where I would live if I were to move back to the UK. Did you get to see the monument dedicated to the first person killed by a train when you were in the cathedral?

oo oo oo! I'm out in meetings all of today, but I'll comment on all this later. However, as a quickie, the Shippams clock is a replica - the original was taken away by the company when they moved, much to local outrage and they put in a replica to appease the city folk. And the locals do walk the walls, I can assure you. |
And there is a rather well-known painting of the canal, but I expect you'll come to that in due course. |
aaand... how much did your discount ticket cost you to get there? |
I lived in Chichester for a year as a student and I hated it.
I never visited the catherdal and I didn't know there was a walkway on the wall. Perhaps its time to visit and reasses my opinion! |
I also went to Chichester on the £5 day out, I was not impressed, so took a bus to Selsy Bill and looked at Patrick Moores house, he was having a garden party the next day.
I preferred Winchester to Chichester. |
Nice to be reminded of the three years I spent at Bishop Otter College. |

"Did you get to see the monument dedicated to the first person killed by a train when you were in the cathedral?" I always thought that the train station was a separate building. Have they realigned the tracks in the 40 years since I was last there? |
Loved the photo of the spire with its very own halo. |
Actually the last cargo to be carried on the Chichester Ship Canal was in the early 1900s.
