Boris would be disappointed!

dg writes: Sorry Dan, Sorry Boris. Fixed now.

Yes, curious that TfL apparently have the money to print these propaganda pamphlets but not comprehensive leaflets of all the new fares (whether cash, Oyster, Travelcard).

Hounslow West Underground station staff have had to write out a long list of cash/travelcard/Oyster fares on a big whiteboard in the ticket hall.

Yes dg, I did feel on leafing through it yesterday that its correct title was 'Every Vote Matters'.

Electioneering on the rates - Would that be just like his predecessor then?

I vaguely remember Ken doing the same last time around. Told us how wonderful everything was and how fares hadn't increased (when they had, but that's another story).

What goes around ...

The tube system is less reliable now (between 2010-2011) than it was between 2003-2004.

I have many log books/pages from "all stations" attempts i've ade with times & failures written down to statistically prove it.

How can this be so?

Also, on the Overground they're still saying:

"In 2012, the extensions we are adding to the London Overground will join up south west and south east London, creating a truly orbital railway around London."

Which is untrue, because a TRULY orbital railway around London would be one where trains ran in a continuous circle and you didn't have to change at Highbury or Clapham.

And even if it was, I don't see the point of harping on about it, because it's not quicker to go AROUND London to get somewhere, is it? No - you want something like the Victoria line which goes through, and really quickly thanks, so it's strange that they should say this on the page that also says that "It matters that journeys are more direct", because although the London Overground is new, clean, efficient and plesant to travel on ... it is NOT direct!

TFL do seem to be getting political of late, recently stating Kens fare reductions would cut services. Rather than taking sides they are obliged to simply deliver the transport policies of the Mayor, whatever the political affiliation.

TFL are also taking a stance against HS2 because they claim Euston LU will be unable to cope.

One of the purple posters is currently displayed upside down at Queen's Park S/B.

There is a green version too but no mention that Travel Enquiries is now a premium-rate number,

@GeoffTech:
The Overground IS more direct if you are trying to get from SW London to NW London, or SE to SW.
It adds more direct routes, without having to go in as far as Waterloo or zone 1.
It will also make Clapham Junction, and all its connections, accessible from large swathes of SE London, as well as S and SW.
It makes a lot of journeys simpler. We do not all work in central London you know!

i live very near to Acton Central overground. yet there is no journey on it that it quicker for me to get anywhere that I can't do by goign to one of my two nearest tube stations instead...

Bizzarely another TFL functionary was welcoming HS2 yesterday. Make your mind up!
