Heck, I lived two streets away and I didn't even know it was named that.

Diamond Terrace may be an unadopted road, from the look of the road surface in your pic; if so, the Google Gawper-car may have stuck to the public highway. Fascinating set of vignettes, dg. PS SE10/SW10 dichotomy accidental, I guess.

I often wonder how far in advance you go and do these visits to research them to take photos. I note there is no snow in them .. which means i hope next weekend there'll be some telltale/giveaway snow indicating where you were THIS weekend just gone. ;)

slopes of SW10 rise up.??

I was passing St Paul's on night, a few years back, approaching Christmas time. The church was beautifully lit and, as I had my camera and tripod, I figured I'd stop to get some pictures. As I got nearer, I could hear the most amazing choral music filling the air. My initial thought was that it sounded 'good enough to be recorded.'
And then I kicked myself, as I realised it was actually better than that: it was real!

Posting times now suitably celebratory, too...

Was waiting for diamond terrace DG! A special road - especially the gorgeous country cottage down the Hyde Vale end, where the road splits in two and one part becomes pedestrian only. Worth a walk (and then go up point hill and walk back along westgrove lane, another unexpected delight). Thanks :)

I just discovered this Diamond terrace / Point hill place only a couple of months ago as well - it is awesome, the only bad thing is a bit too much overgrown trees and brambles blocking the views, and some roof gardens of the flats.

But where is the entrance to these caves or air raid shelters? I haven't seen any indication of that?

Also near there is Dartmouth Road which is basically a Dickensian BBC drama film set.

I lived at 3 Diamond Terrace from 1956 until 1968 . Was a special area. The large Georgian Mansion to the left of 3 was a private girls school run by a strange lady called Mrs Rebouffey (or similar) the other Georgian Mansion in its own grounds has caves which were made 1oo's of years ago by people mining flint stone.
