Why is it that on a bus or train I always get the person sneezing and coughing sitting near me?
Why don't people cover their mouth when coughing? Or sneeze into a tissue or handkerchief?
Why are the top decks on modern buses so unventilated? When all the windows are shut, you can smell BO as you ascend the stairs, any germs expelled from coughs and sneezes must just keep circulating.

You have the man flu?

Honey, lemon juice, ginger (grated fresh by preference, ground spice will do), top up with boiling water. Take with echinacea and ibuprofen as required. Can also be used as a preventative.

Great poem.

I seem to call from virology lectures that most colds are actually caught from touching an infected surface and then touching one's nose or mouth and not from directly inhaling someone else's sneeze.

Cool (not cold) poem though......and sympathies for your cold however caught.

great poem - reminds a bit me of the Oppenheimer quote: "I have become Death - the Destroyer of Worlds"

great poem and i hope that your cold goes soon.

A day off and a nice hot bath, squire, that should do the trick.

(And a walk in today's beautiful fresh air too.)

Fresh air? In London?

Man flu alert. Did you know that touching your nose and sneezing in public is seriously offensive if in Japan.

Brandy-Lots...

As soon as I hear someone saying they might be getting a cold, it's inevitable: they're going to get a cold. It's all in the mind. Self-fulfilling prophesy and all that.

I haven't had a cold in years because I don't want one. (OK, I get the symptoms sometimes but that's different...)

To Amused - yes, but when I was there a sneeze crept up on me while on a train! I felt bad, but not as bad as after I absent-mindedly shut a taxi door. Not so good at the social graces. Sorry to all you other English people whom I am merrily giving a bad name.
