ugh... i use the H&C most weekends and had no idea about this...

and in summer i prefer the open trains to the central line where is gets so hot and stuffy... :(...

I think the word is "ouch".

Oh you can't beat a good bit of summer engineering work

I use the H&C as part of my commute, from Edgware Road to Hammersmith. Looks like Wimbleware to Earl's Court and then the District for me...

The weekend before last, I was heading from Kings X to Wood Lane - so hopped on a Circle line train. Then had to get off a few stops later when the driver announced that it was actually a Circle line train, and would be turning left after Edgware Road, so I had to change for the next H&C train.

I think it was to do with the Paddington H&C platform being closed, but a little confusing all the same - especially as it didn't seem to have been published anywhere.

At least the closures largely don't coincide with any work on the Central Line, so it'll still be possible to go out West - though I'm now puzzling over how I'll be getting to work on September 5th. Maybe I'll just take the day off in anticipation.

@martin - I believe that the incident you encountered was an unplanned closure of the Paddington H&C plats; somebody might be able to confirm that!

Are there any Crossrail works at Paddington? All I have been able to find that they are doing during the closure is the building of a new Taxi ramp above the H and C line. The new ramp is required as the existing Taxi rank needs to be relocated so as to make way for the Crossrail station.
