The caption in your daffodil picture says "spring is late this year". The lateness has given rise to a situation where many trees and flowers are blooming at the same, time whereas in a normal season there would be several weeks between them.
The ones held up by the prolonged cold weather in are in flower at the same time as those that should be in flower this month. It has not been good for my tree pollen hay fever!. |

my daffodils still haven't appeared, though there are some in other gardens nearby. I did get crocus flowers earlier this year though.

My daffodils have faded now, but I still have tulips and hyacinths out. Very strange!

My old school's birthday was in the first week of March and the daffodil was our symbol. A school birthday without daffodils would have been very unusual.
