What a lovely place. So very anti-Ikea.
What a splendid place I'd never heard of. Thanks for that, I will definitely go.
Looks an interesting place. I was surprised to see that for a house with "beautiful things inside" the outside is not beautiful - it's pebble dashed!
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful house.
I walked past this house many times each week in the late 60's and early 70's on my way from and to our home further down the street. I never realized the treasures within.
Hi Diamond Geezer

There is a living descendent of Frank Dickinson living in Bow E3. He found it interesting about your visit and impression of the house
Occasionally, you'll have visited places in London that I know of but just haven't got round to visiting (and I've lived in London for over 30 years now). But this place has never once been on my radar. So thank you - I will definitely check it out.
How quirkily lovely. One for my next visit to London; thanks, DG.
Dear Mr Diamond Geezer - if only you'd also turned south from Carshalton Beeches station, you'd have come across our house in Park Hill, which is a continuation of Beeches Avenue! The house was built in 1867 by Philip Webb after he'd been commissioned by Mark Rutherford (William Hale White) & there is a blue plaque to Mark Rutherford's memory on the wall of the house. The inside was apparently decorated by William Morris, although nothing remained when we bought the house. We have restored it, as far as possible according to the plans which are in the V & A. Sadly we're having to sell now, so if anyone would like such a wonderful family house......or do please come to visit us while we live here!
