please empty your brain below

I like predictions. Once they are made they almost instantly are shown not to be coming true. You are deliberately trying to put the mockers on things aren't you? If so, more power to your elbow.

I'll carry on happily being a nobody, thank you.

hehe, spot on - just had an email from a friend apologising for not getting in touch earlier, but as she'd been reading my blog she felt she was up to date with all my news and so hadn't got around to calling ... we're swapping friends for readers

I would imagine that Facebook, Twitter etc. will be seen as 'old hat' by the end of the decade, just like Geocities is now. Still, I wonder what the next generation of social networking tools will be like?

I'm still waiting for the induvidual jet packs that were promised, for the future in the 1950's

I'm trying to be 'with it' and Facebook, but I really just don't get it! Give me a nice chatty email or phone call any day.
And all this time I save by not posting every little random thought that pops into my head, or caring for some fluffy thing!
Interestingly only my daughter (10) likes Fb. The rest (boys) also consider it a waste of time, and actually go out and hang with their friends!

Oh, DG, you can see all this coming if you live with a 14 year-old. Nothing is private, reflection has no meaning, and screens must constantly be checked, regardless of what else is going on. I hope this is a phase he grows out of but I fear for the future.
