There's a 1914 tie-in, I suppose, with the London buses that were used in France in the First World War - isn't one of the remaining relics being restored?
"Iconic" - more poverty of expression from the TfL PR team.
Next year marks 75 years of RTs and 60 years of Routemasters so there are two obvious "birthdays" to mark. 1914 is also a tie in with the "Battle Bus" being restored by the LT Museum.
...plus in June marks first anniversary of the "new Routemaster" in full operational use on route 24. Perhaps it'll also mark the first year in which a route that travels south of the Thames is converted?
1 - 'New Bus[es] for London' aren't Routemasters; they never will be, only a creativity deficit at TfL is evident.
2 - 'RM60' is booked, a two-day rally and event at Finsbury Park (in the Park) for SAT12+SUN13 July. Not organised by TfL but they are supportive.
3 - route 148 (which goes south of the River) will convert in February to BorisBus.
4 - fuel consumption data for 'production' NBfLs will be available after route 24 has had a year of running them - a TfL promise. Then we'll be able to judge objectively if £200m is a wise spend.
Seen strong hints on another forum that between the 148 in February and the 8 in June, route 205 will be converted to the Behemoths as well, bringing them to Bow even sooner.

Still only one route straying out of Middlesex though.........
i've seen 'hints' that the 148 will be one-person operation all the time and what with the other routes now 2-crewed only mon-fri (8-7?) it seems like the "open-platform" is losing ground. London is a busy place at weekends too...so this 'key selling point' should be available. Still, at least we can cool-off in the summer in it's "climate-controlled enviroment" ...maybe
LU 150 may be nearly over, but it seems there are plans to commemorate the Hammersmith branch in much the same way with the same train again operating through to Moorgate - possibly in August.
