Yes it is irritating but probably necessary in these litigious times
I think the health and safety issues relate to two groups - members of the public with a pre-existing disposition to dust related illnesses and the the gallery's staff who could be exposed to the dust for the three months it was on display.

Another point that struck me was what are going to do with the exhibit when its time is up.If they sold it off piece by piece it could keep the gift shop going for years.

I'm amazed that they're amazed that people are nicking the seeds. I'd have thought it was fairly obvious that people would want a 'souvenir'. In fact, I have wondered whether it is all actually a very big experiment to see how quickly all the seeds disappear, and how brazen people are in the furtive removal of them.

You have to feel for the staff - wasn't there a scare about glycol or something being used in the mist for the Weather Project?

I went on Tuesday lunchtime, scrunched around, and pinched a seed. Yay!
