please empty your brain below

Could you please give a postal address for those of us who aren't Twits or InMyFacers?

If this is all a joke DG, and there's no actual t-shirt to be won, there's going to be trouble ...

Now you control my electronic identity do you think you could make my blog more popular?

...and if everyone does retweet you - you'll soon be trending !

I feel strangely tempted......

You're very savvy, Mr Gezzer.

@Blue Witch You have to laugh at people with blogs who criticise FB etc. The only difference between the two is that with FB one's  whining ego-centric nonsense is more likely to be read by people you actually know in real life. This at least has the advantage that people have to take responsibility for any nasty ranting they do

Ha, ha ha DLOL but I'm not telling you what I DLOL at.

DG. I just had to do it. You are a clever sausage. Mind you, I'm hoping that a couple of people will look at my blog by writing this comment so all's fair in love and war!

ps. I was already following you anyway.

You should've used a bit.ly link that actually works...

Can't follow you on twitter or facebook as I won't use these forms of communication.

Keep up the blog, it's great

In your recent survey you should've asked how many of your readers have a Twitter account. Very few, I imagine. Personally, I just don't get the whole Twitter thing.

Twitter can be very useful to get quick service updates from eg. a train operator. And you can swear at the same train operator by @mentioning them :)

Simpson: I guess it depends on how long one has been blogging, and what one blogs about.

Given that, "'Spouses’ behaviour with the opposite sex on Facebook' was cited in 33% of divorce petitions in the UK in 2011." (source: http://digitaljournal.com/article/317055), there's not much responsiblity going on there I think. Just a yearning for something that isn't going to be found sitting in front of a computer, I'd posit.

If you ask most secondary school teachers, and those of us who work with teenagers in a mental health capacity, what they would most like to ban, I'm pretty sure it would be FB.

The linkmaker ruined my link!

It should be:

Blue Witch, don't get me wrong, I don't Blog, Tweet or Facebook and I'm not particularly an advocate of any of them. DG is  the only personal blog that I read as he is interesting and one of his specialist interests is particularly relevant for me. FB and Tweeter are not for me, but I can see the good as well as the bad in them. As you suggest about blogging, these things are all about how you use them. I tend to live and let live, enjoy what I enjoy and avoid what I don't. There's no point ruining one's health and quality of life by getting all het up and Daily Mail about stuff.

It's an interesting article you link to, but I don't think that FB is the cause, just the facilitator. I remember in pre-Facebook days seeing exactly the same article about chatrooms and Friends Reunited. Prior to all of these, you could probably say that people meeting in pubs or clubs was cited in the majority of breakups. Sadly, many people are unhappy in their relationships and looking for something else.

I clicked everything I could find. What do I win! *bounces excitedly* :)))
Or is it a subtle ploy to see how many bother clicking your links?

Did Twitter spring fron the word "twit" by any chance!

I follow you already. If I unfollow, follow again and retweet, can I still be in a remote chance of winning?

Please say yes. I need some brand engagement on Facebook. Need it I say!

DLOL with wings on!

@Blue Witch: "The linkmaker ruined my link!"

Hmm. Well, apparently the rules of such things say that parenthesis are allowed in URL's, and comma is used a lot - especially by news sites. :)

I'm afraid it's one of those things where the human brain understands where the link ends but the computer doesn't, cause it's stupid and only following the rules I told it to. :)

LMFAO.

I'm not being crude, I am talking about the music group.

Thanks Kirk, now that I know I shall put a space in next time, in a similar situation.

It's still the best comments system around. You should market it... maybe set up a Twitter and FB account for it and run a competition... judging by today's response to this post there are clearly lots of sheep around who'd retweet for the chance of winning a half-sucked gobstopper ;)

Gobstopper? Can I WIN a gobstopper? Where do I sign?

Does it come with kittens?

I thought you weren't actually on Facebook. It just wouldn't suit you.

Out of pure nosiness, do you have a personal or professional account anywhere which you keep strictly separate from the blog?

dg writes: Not on Facebook at all. Absolutely not.

I loved the entry but I will not follow - IMHO the world shouldn't and can't realistically, be chopped into 140 character bites!!
Keep on with the blog please.

I am not, and I never shall be, a Twatter.

Oh DG you disappoint - I thought you were offering us a real sheep! (Still love you tho')
