The LFA website says "The sneak preview of the London Pleasure Gardens on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June 2012 has been postponed. The final preparations for the site have been delayed by recent adverse weather conditions. "
Shame, but at least that's one less conflicting event to visit.

Having passed by several times recently, the venue's been looking a bit sparse, and hasn't looked like it could possibly be ready on time for a June opening.
Also the Richmond Arthouse things is this weekend, about 50 artists open their homes to visitors, similar to the Bow one.
Ooo, the Croxley Revels. Brings back a lot of childhood memories, that one. I also remember Betjeman being less than complementary about it in his 'Metroland' programme...
And there's the 8th edition of the Glamour Ride this evening starting from Mile End Park at 7pm http://www.glamour-ride.org.uk/ Oh yes, it's all go.
Glad you did not mention The Hackney Weekend !. The marshes have been taken from the free use of the locals for over a week now with security fence and watch towers to boot.
There's also Tottenham Carnival parade on Saturday. Details are on the website named unsurprisingly www.tottenhamcarnival.co.uk

This states that 'that due to Shortfall in our funding we will be unable to stage the Festival in Bruce Castle Park', but there will be the usual fun fair in the Park. I understand that there will also still be some stalls representing local groups.

There's also an event called 'Summer on the Green' starting on the same day at Tottenham Green East N15. Fortunately this one is not just for the day, but goes on until 22nd July.
Details are on another nominative website.
Twickenham Riverside new park (re) opens this weekend with attendant jollities.

"Twickenham’s Diamond Jubilee Gardens will be officially opened on 23 June by Princess Alexandra. The site will then be opened up to the public on 24 June through an action packed day of free activities. A number of bands will perform live on the main stage throughout the day with family friendly activities to include a 1930’s traditional showground with a coconut shy, ball-in-the-bucket and Hoopla. There will also be face painting, balloon modelling and street performers. Gates open at 11am and the event will close at 6pm.
Very East London / City of London biassed. Is North, West and South London a cultural desert this weekend? Is your inherent Bow-clination showing through? Or is something else happening?
I spent many hours swimming at Twickenham Open air baths in the 1950's. It was a lovely pool. Pity it closed down. Of the 3 local pools that closed in the old borough, Twickenham was never reopened. Hampton pool was sold and is now a successful heated open air pool. Teddington pool stayed under council control and had a roof put over and became an indoor pool, but Twickenham pool was left to dereliction.
Now it's been filled in and grassed over I doubt it will ever reopen as a pool.
Of course Richmond had new baths built, but back in the 1950's that was a different borough.
With all these events taking place it would be nice to get some summer weather!.
I've added three more events, thanks!

It is remarkably difficult to uncover details of what special events are taking place in non-Central London. Time Out only occasionally gives such events prominence, and the Visit London website is absolutely useless.

One day, someone other than Ian Visits will come up with a decent list.
