Sounds like you had a great day DG, as well as some tickets for the Olympics I have also obtained some for the Paralympics and am looking forward to going to both events, also they must have fine tuned the public address system as I did not hear it at all yesterday despite being out in the garden for quite a while, this is in great contrast to some of the previous public address system testing that has gone on within the stadium and has been perfectly audible from within my house.

The stadium looks great in those photos, I still get excited looking at it and the park and taking in what will happen come July.

I have booked for the athletics in September, so thanks for the preview - it seems I will not be disappointed.

I also went to the event yesterday.I certainly think it will be worth people going to the Paralympics as the events will be much better when the stadium is full and there are real medals at stake.

I thought the stadium looked impressive but things that struck me about it were - the more expensive seats don't get covered by a roof - so you could pay £725 and get thoroughly wet ; the seats in the 100m straight are set in a curve quite a way back from the track - but perhaps they can see the whole straight better that way; and the best views of all, the last 30 metres of the straight, the seats are for journalists and TV crews.

Excellent. All the glory goes to the atheletes competing in the main olympics, but in my opinion it's these athletes who deserve it more.
