Really useful info, thanks.

Any advice on the best way to leave at night. Coming on Tuesday 7th and need to get back to Waterloo. Thought about Stratford (but 80,000 leaving the athletics at 9.20pm), but also Bromley by Bow tube (from Victoria Gate but is it safe to walk at night from there to the tube) and West Ham tube (district line). Any suggestions?
Javelin to St Pancras and then tube to Waterloo/Vauxhall?

DLR from International to Woolwich Arsenal and then Waterloo East? Or DLR from International to West Ham or Canning Town to get a Stratford-bound Jubilee and stay on the train when it turns round at Stratford!

Stratford High Street?
Go out the Greenway gate, over the bridge and walk out on to Stratford High Street. Turn to your right, walk a few metres past the transport hub - catch bus 25 or 425 to Bow Road Tube Station (look for DG Blue Plaque ;-) ) take District Line to Monument and take W&C or go along to Embankment and down by Northern or Bakerloo to Waterloo. You could probably walk too but having done pedestrian battle with Bow Roundabout the other day I'm not sure I'd want to take my life in my hands in the dark!

You could try the DLR from Stratford (or Bow Church using buses as above from Greenway gate) to Westferry then change for a Bank train then W&C line. However I don't know how busy the DLR is predicted to be or how awful Bank might be. Another DLR is down to Canning Town by DLR then a train to Bank from the upper platforms at Canning Town (same disclaimers apply).

Another lateral option is Overground from Stratford to Highbury then Vic Line to Oxford Circus then Bakerloo Line to Waterloo.

Or Greater Anglia from Stratford to Liverpool Street then bus 26 (from Bishopsgate stop) to Waterloo.
