You could have used AM or FM radio to hear Big Ben chiming at the correct time. Although even this may not be possible in a few years time.
Thanks for all the interesting articles last year, and best wishes for 2015.
Thanks for all your posts DG, and have a very happy New Year.
With gratitude for your continuing endeavours.

I have to hope the British Library is archiving this site to ensure it can be accessed, studied and enjoyed long into the future.
Happy New Year DG. Wishing you all the best for your travels, visits and blogging in 2015.
Great article. I was looking to go up to telegraph hill yesterday but due to rushing instead went local to Burgess Park, Camberwell. Was it really busy on the Hill and did the Strata Tower obscure much of the display? I'd love to go for next year's display.
Roehamster - you may be aware that DG is included in the UK Web Archive maintained by the British Library. However, they don't seem to have visited until May 2012. See http://www.webarchive.org.uk/ukwa/target/7176225/source/alpha
Andrew - thanks for that link. Some other pages are archived on the Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive. Some links to photos and other sites work too, and there is the possibility of putting more up yourself. It is a bit weird though - for example when I looked last night the page for Dec 15th was archived, but it seems to have gone today. Apparently you can register with them and receive more information.
