I am reading this whilst eating my breakfast so that I don't waste time before taking dog for short walk so that me and Mrs P can spend the whole day having a life visiting traffic-free Greenwich, my favourite Rotherhithe pub and a exhibition at Excel. No life, huh ?

I'm sad and proud!

I'm just filling in a bit of time while our new baby is asleep.

I'm at work (and bored) - days of the week mean little to shift workers...

I'm eating breakfast too, reading on laptop. Then going into town, then doing tax return. This was the one post in my RSS this morning!

Sad friendless geeks of the world unite!

Sad and friendless, though I might dispute the geek bit. Well, I would, if I wasn't thrilled by the prospect of updating Wordpress on Monday when I really should be doing something else...

At work, I work. So on Saturday I catch up with my reading, often on the go (I'm travelling to Manchester to see friends now).

But reading you is an early morning daily pleasure

hello sad, friendless geek with no life...

I'm spending my Saturday morning slowly waking up and relaxing; recovering from the week. I might even blog something. Then, this afternoon, I'll go out, meet friends, and do the week's quota of non-work socialising.

Got up early, made cup of tea, surfed and sipped a bit, then when out again for haircut, got groceries from, high street, back again: tea, blogs etc. I find that if I don't have anybody to sit and have a cup of tea with I sit with my laptop instead. Sad? Maybe, but I find it's kind of like "snacking" away online.

You missed out us sad geeks who are convalescing with a sore knee. But hey, hello to you too!

Um, that'll be me then...
your ever loyal daily, sad, lonely and freindless reader. (Actually I even visit when I'm on holiday and have access to the web - yup, sad!)

xx

Not sad at all, if you don't mind. Have just finished washing the car (all right, that's a bit sad); did my tax return yesterday and posted it off (wow!; and am now off to Old Warden to see flying display as guest of HSBC Insurance.

Free nosh as well. Should be good! And why am I on the keyboard now? Well, my wife has only just got off it!

I have a man cold, so am allowed.

Never diss the readership, old bean.

Even if - especially if - you've hit the nail on the head.

I shall now go out for my lunch and some light shopping before the gym - and then I shall finish a mildly topical blogpost that probably no-one will read.

what's even worse is that it's my birthday.

i have no life - although i'll be watching one of my daughters play in a hockey match this evening. does that count?

"Hello, my name is The Girl and I am a geek/blogger/web addict."

Just having a coffee between reading the paper and going out into the world. It's been a busy week at work, so only just managed to catch up with your blogs from the past few days. More interesting than the paper! Keep up the good work.

I'm fiddling with a new iPod and it's taking me forever. And then I have football to go to. But Saturday morning's always been blog-reading morning for me.

Been out to take my daughter to ballet, had friends over for coffee and a sarnie, now just logging on to catch up with the news before going off to football this afternoon - won't say who I am going to watch because you will laugh at me. So, not sad, lonely or friendless, just like reading your blog!

Reason I don't read your blog on a Saturday is that it's usually full of dull London stuff. Today's is far more enjoyable.

There's more to life than London.

If you have read this far why not leave a comment (or two) and prove DG wrong. Then close down diamond geezer and come back in once more (or twice) so that the stats for today break all the rules.
Come on, show him you care.

I have been out, strolling around, having lunch, shopping, for about five hours. Now I'm going to rest my feet and read your blog. I can always spare a few minutes for your blog even on Saturdays.

I bet you now get more comments on this than a weekday post. That'll teach ya!

I am going to copy and paste this post into my blog next Saturday, in order to ensure 26 comments.

Doing my part to push up your Saturday stats so you don't feel so lonely on a Saturday.

Hey hey, it's the DG Saturday Club! As work-time web access grows ever more constrained, I'm relying more and more on weekends to play blog catch-up, especially on dull, miserable afternoons such as this one. I'm also enjoying a bit of downtime after doing the gardening.

Anyway, who wants to brave the shops on a Saturday? Worst day of the week for it! (Same goes for hitting town on a Saturday night - far too "bridge and tunnel"!)

I can't wait to read what kind of nasty things you have to say about Sunday bloggers tomorrow...

I was out somewhere spending money (which I shouldn't have), I sipped a latte (not cappucino), my flat is rented so the grouting can stay exactly as it is, leaving me free to sit here, read you and marvel how well organised some of your readers are to be doing their tax return already. You guys are good...

Bizzarely my latest (in the day) visit for a very long time...so, what an apposite post

And proud of the title "Sad, Friendless Geek." Can't think of better company than found on your website, Geezer!

Best wishes from this American friend,
Lynn

If any of you lot fancy a drink tonight then please drop me an email.

I've never thought of dg readers as ordinary people doing predictable things. (Some of them have funny names too, like Geoffecth.)

Does it count if I visit - and comment - twice?

Does that make me doubly sad, or doubly a dg fan??

I've just got back from work - and am due back in at 7:30am tomorrow. That's me every weekend for the time being so keep blogging Saturdays - tho calling us all sad lifeless geeks (or some such) hurt. Yes I know sometimes the truth hurts.

Saturdays,...Haircut if needed 7am... Computer fairs Tottenham Ct Rd... Buskers on the South Bank. Matinees at theatres,..and there's normally a special event taking place somewhere in London.

I got a tube to Victoria.

An overground train to Crawley.

And a bus to Nymans Gardens.

Where I relaxed in the countryside, enjoyed the surroundings, and took loads of photos.

I think I have a life. Which suits me.

So what did YOU miss today when you were telling us how sad we were...

Steve

(where is my Irony Flag when I need it?)

It's been requisitioned by the DG Saturday Club.

"sad, friendless geeks with no life"

Geez, how scaringly accurate.

Not reading DG on a Saturday (no internet in new abode) means twice the content on Sunday mornings...

I am reading this on Sunday, as being a busy working wife, I have the housework to do on a Saturday, and the shopping, and visiting the grand-children. I go to work for a rest (and to read yours and Geoff's blogs). Geoff you are right, plenty of responses to this post.

> (where is my Irony Flag when I need it?)

[irony on]

Laughs.

But being a geek I had to read something on the PDA to while away the journey.

You should be flattered that I chose you. Think of the marketing possibilities.

"dg is more interesting than a train ride to Crawley..."

It's a scary place BTW. You should spread your wings a little wider and write a series of dispatches from suburban shopping malls and bus stations.

[irony off]

I object to being called a "sad friendless geek": I am not so good with teh computers.
Hence I am a "sad friendless dork".
ps I read your friday blog on Saturday, due to the international date line

By Monday morning, the weekend posts have matured nicely and are perfect for easing into the first work day of the week.

It's Monday and I just got round to reading a few blogs. (It's a Bank Holiday here in Japan)

Just coz you wrote it on Saturday, doesn't mean I wont read it later. I wish I had time to read blogs every day.

I'm also reading your Saturday post again on Monday morning.

Oh dear.
Is there a clinic (on the NHS of course) where I can get help?

I read Saturday, Sunday and Monday on Monday. Would not miss a day, though...

Man, you summed it up. Although I did work on Saturday, I didn't do much else. So what you're saying is: there's life outside my apartment?

Do me a favor and give your stranded SF friend a big hug from me...
