Another good interesting item. One thing puzzles me in the opening paragraph you say you... "sneeked in and did the walk yesterday because the weather was better" How did you know that at the time, it may turn out nice later today (Sunday) Maybe you should have said "..because it was a nice day"

Lovely. Are you planning on eventually adding your Walk London series to the Special London Features section in the sidebar?

Wow, this is very much my neck of the woods! I feel like I should have heard about this. Sydenham Hill Wood, One Tree Hill and Nunhead Cemetery are all lovely places, great to see them getting some exposure.

I'd heard about the new extension and from past knowledge of the Green Chain I was aware how keen they had been to bridge this particular gap. It was entirely fitting a special opening ceremony had been organised by the Green Chain people (in conjunction with WalkLondon), and it was great to see that I was just one of well over a hundred people who had gone along to Nunhead to attend the opening, and take part in a guided walk along the new stretch.
It was a superb day, and the walk is every bit as enjoyable as dg makes it sound.

I walked this route earlier in 2010 when living briefly in Farringdon. A very logical addition to the Green Chain network and thank you DG for bringing it all back to me.

Looks like a nice route - going to walk this today!
