Here we go again. Big yawn!!!
Tourist Thames crossings, seem to be increasing.
The Hungerford bridge walkways rebuilt on either side of the railway.
The wobbly bridge, pity they took away the wobble.
The cable-car.(now with in flight movies)
Coming soon? The garden bridge.
You really don't like the Cable car do you DG. Or is it TFL you don't like, or god forbid, Boris? No surely not!
Christ, that's embarassing.
Oh my...an what all say about the Diamond Jubilee Bridge?
I've yet to go on the danglethingy. I've always intended to whenever I've been that way. just the once, to see what it's like, the same with the big wheel.

However, when I do go on it, it will be as a visitor to enjoy the experience and the scenery. The last thing I want is anything to distract me from that. If I was a regular commuter (as they said the dangle was aimed at when they needed to justify the expense), the last thing I would want is that twice a day that I couldn't escape from.

No doubt if it wasn't the snowman it would be adverts or something else.
Bring on a Mayor who will do the one thing that will turn the Dangleway from a folly to something useful. It requires no gimics. Sadly the day when Travelcards become accepted seems so very very far away...
I have been one of the very few regular commuters, complete with my good value 10-trip clippable weekly passes.
@John, the Hungerford pedestrian bridge isn't mainly for tourists, it's vital for anyone on the north side who wishes to use Waterloo station or anything on the South Bank (Festival Hall, National Theatre etc). anyone who remembers the previous version will agree that it's a great improvement, on the old bridge sometimes it was necessary to paddle through puddles because it was so narrow that the water covered the whole surface in places
Surely the original film soundtrack, sung by Peter Auty, (or Aled Jones' cover version) has appropriate lyrics - "Walking in the Air". I actually wouldn't mind hearing that while admiring the view - although probably not every day.

But I'd want to admire the view: if I want to watch a film, I'd rather be in a cinema.
Golden Jubilee Bridges - very necessary upgrade of the old walkway, and without it there would be an awfully long detour to get from the west end to the south bank.

Wobbly Bridge - again I used to use it a lot - much more pleasant than Blackfriars Bridge. However, in bad weather though, I prefer the new weatherproof crossing available by entering Blackfriars station on the south bank and leaving it on the north (open to anyone with a travelcard or London terminals season ticket).
John, as others have said the replacement Hungerford Bridges and 'Wobbly' Bridge do fulfill a useful transport function, as well as perhaps being an attraction in their own right.

This garden bridge thing though, how is this happening (again)? Shocking. I'd be interested to know what local opinion is on this. Sounds like it's going to be an abomination. Also sounds like it is proposed to be a(nother) private facility paid for with private money.
Incidentally, googling the word "dangleway" brings up firstly, a twitter account in that name. Second on the list is TFL's official page.

Number 4 on that list is Lord Diamond of Stratford.
Snowman and Snowdog? Really?

Pretty much everyone else who wants to increase customer traffic this winter has festooned their business with "Frozen" stuff. And it's working.
is this the same cable car that was never going to cost London tax payers a penny?!?

I wonder how that is working out...
Are the gondolas/cabins, or whatever they're called, dangly bits?

A google search for that could bring up a good description of them!
Boris looks a bit like the flying snowman, no? Private Eye should do them as lookalikes. Also he goes on zipwires, or rather gets stuck on them.
Morrisons currently have loo and kitchen roll with the Snowman and the Snowdog on it. 2 packs (of 2/4 rolls respectively) for £2.50. Sounds like it could come in useful...
The Golden Jubilee bridges are two of the best things to happen in Central London for many years. The old Hungerford footbridge was no longer up to the job and had a poor reputation for personal safety. The new bridges make that journey so much easier.

As for the Dangleway, well, never again!
Crikey. I've not been on the thing yet, and I sort of vaguely keep intending to. But sod it, I'm not paying for this nonsense.
