Congratulations! And you were surveying the stickers on line diagrams as you went!

And you started at **midnight**?!?
One thing that interest me is how much this cost you, assuming you used your Oyster card. As I know you let us know how to save money/cost. Also the full tube challenge, but I guess it can be done on the cost of a 1 day travel card.
I have a Z1-3 travelcard, so the All Zones Challenge cost me nothing.

And it'd only cost a single fare for anyone else - nipping in and out of the system at Waterloo is a permitted interchange.
That's me at fourth, fifth, and sixth place there! It's probably the only unbeatable record on the tube...
If only I were younger and fitter, 'sigh!' Ha! But at least it wouldn't cost me anything! From a contented freedom pass holderπŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„
Had such a good run that day, 8 of the 10 changes were on to waiting trains!
That 41:42, I was having a great run (bar 1 minute wait for W&C to leave platform), then I got to Embankment waiting for a District and what do I get? 2 minutes for a sodding Circle, next District another 2 after that.
A few years back I had a few goes just to see how easy it would be. Without really trying, (and at lunchtime when W&C trains sit at Bank for EVER) I could consistently do it in 45-50 minutes, which would put me about 17th.
You missed a trick - on all Tube challenges the clock only starts when the doors close on the first train, so if you had started, rather than finished, at Farringdon you could have waited until the next three trains were all for different lines. (Normally every other train is a Met, every fourth train is a Circle and every fourth train is a H&C).

You could start at Moorgate if you only want to sample each type of train, as the Met, H&C and Circle all use S stock - and the District is starting to do so too.

Avoiding long interchanges is the key, and Charing Cross is VERY long. I tried various West End variants but Waterloo/Embankment/Westminster/Green Park/Oxford Circus/Piccadilly Circus/Leicester-Square-or-Green-Park-whichever-came-first seemed to work for me.
Hard luck if the first train along at Embankment is a Circle though! (One chance in four if things are running to schedule)

@ Nick
The maximum journey time for a single Zone 1 fare is 90 minutes, (more at evenings and weekends).
Kids these days have it east... try doing it when the East London Line used to exist! Pah....
How about the London bus challenge? Would it be possible to ride at least one stop on every London bus route (excluding school, night and mobility routes) in the space of one day?

dg writes: Probably not even possible in a week.
Wot no DLR (It is possible to do the challenge and include the DLR)
It took me 19 runs to visit every station line by line. I wonder if I could beat the record by running this challenge.Ummm.
@Steve Of course it's possible! But it's not necessary, and given the challenge is to do it as fast as possible, why on earth would you?

@Down Street Not possible. There was an article some time back talking about rare routes. Just the 389, 399, W10, 359 and 385 would be probably impossible in a day. I did this once as 'something in my free time', took me a few years.
You can change quicker at Green Park by going up to the ticket hall and down again. It's electrically powered too. The same applies at London Bridge interchange from Jubilee to Northern. I notice a person on the platform and I'm usually at the next platform before they are having expended less energy.
You should do one including the DLR and Overground (you could do the cable car if you want, too)
