Superb! Better than any LOCOG information. Have printed this out and will be taking it with me on Friday ...
Presumably, the rings aren't painted on the back because they would be the wrong way round viewed from that side.
@Dave, I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it.
Thanks for this. I was in the park yesterday and looked round a bit but didn't have a huge amount of time.

I'm back for many many hours between events during the Paralympics so this is very useful indeed :)
@Dave & Barry:
Yeah, but the overall shape is symmetrical so they could've painted it the right way around on the back -- the colours on each individual ring wouldn't then match but so what?
Seeing mention of the "Beat Box", near me there is a large poster from (purveyer of brown fizzy sugar solution) saying "Celebrate BRITAIN'S BEAT". I had to look at it several times before realising it is supposed to be "beat" as in rhythm rather than "beat" as in defeated, and was not a comment on Team GB's performance so far (not to mention the Test Match result.....).
Thanks for the tip about needing orbit tickets in advance. I have now revisited the booking site and added Orbit tickets to a date I had booked for the stadium. The only ones left for that day were in the evening so probably be in darkness.
The "survived" link in "the old metal footbridge has survived" is dodgy.

It doesn't matter how big a haystack you build, I'll STILL find the needle!

How does the Overground pass underneath World Square? Did they bury it in a new tunnel?
There's a very wide bridge over the Overground just to the north of World Square - you could probably argue that it's part of Britannia Way, but that's just semantics :)

You can see the Overground passing underneath on this aerial photo: http://binged.it/R37C1I (which I'd probably date as early June, based on how much of the BBC studio had been built)
A lot of people have decided to picnic on the planting in the area to the east of the street market and tread down trails to the top - 3 years of work ruined in 2 days.
There were announcements yesterday telling people to stay off the flowers in front of the Park Live screen as well.
Just too many people wanting to sit and watch, which isn't that surprising.
Fantastic! I'll be in the park on Sunday. I've got a 10 to 3 ticket - will they kick me out at 3pm????
I'd like to see them try do that to the thousands like yourself!

Seriously though, you'll be fine as those tickets are valid *all day*; the intervals were just specified to encourage a more even flow of spectators throughout the day, or so I heard.
Great! I hope my wife doesn't mind being dragged round the park for 12 hours! To be honest, I want to see the park more than I want to see any sport.
Thanks so much for these guides, I'm reading them more avidly than usual. Due to your prompting I managed day and Orbit tickets for tomorrow. Unfortunately due to a catastrophic mundane accident 10 days ago I am now enjoying the care of the NHS (thanks surgeon Mo from the Royal Docks for saving my leg) so the opening ceremony was particularly poignant.
Tickets now passed on to a family member. I'm lapping it all up and eagerly await your photos each day, thanks fella.
What would we do without you, DG?

Somebody needs to teach the Station Staff at Canning Town how to talk to people properly rather than shouting aggressively at everybody. Also yesterday at West Silvertown a rather over enthusiastic station assistant was encouraging people to "please move down the platform" there was nobody on the platform!
Regarding Olympic Park Passes. I had an Olympic Park Pass for 10 to 3 yesterday and I had an Orbit ticket for 4:40. I was not asked to show an Olympic Park ticket for the Orbit - only the Orbit ticket. The Orbit was a good view but definitely not worth £15. The only useful thing to see was the practice of the olympic ceremonies in the stadium. Unfortunately the cauldron is now hidden from the orbit.
Thanks for the valuable info - it was lovely to escape the crowds today to some of the less well visited spots. I particularly enjoyed the Great British Garden http://adwright.co.uk/2012/08/06/great-british-garden-olympic-park/
Thank you for this helpful guide I found it very useful and managed to see most things you mention. I think the only thing I missed was the bridge where the words came up underneath. I did look out for it, but not sure which of the many bridges it was.
