Thanks for the review. I went last year, between Christmas and New Year, and plan to do the same this year (and start a tradition!).

As I recall, there were sections last year for photos that had been retouched digitally, which I quite liked, but it was made very clear which were which.

And yes, you have to admire the efforts that go into this sort of thing - almost as intriguing as the images themselves.
Though obviously it'd be good to see them big, on the wall, I've just spent an enjoyable twenty minutes admiring the winning pictures in the comfort of my own laptop, by following the first link. Thanks DG.
Went on sunday. Wonderful. And the Christmas market outside.
Thanks for the post I went to see this last year and enjoyed it so must go back. I do remember it took me a while to find the right place though. It didn't seem to be mentioned in any of the whats on guides in the south bank centre.
One of the other reasons the earlier winner was disqualified was becuase his shot of upturned boats was basically an unoriginal copy of someone else's photo ('inspired by'). Same lcoation, same lighting, composition, effects....

Slightly OT but are we allowed to know what the new DG camera is? Flickr is not saying but the most recent photos do look better than the old Samsung. [Here's hoping DG's using the new camera or else I look daft ;-) ]
Some brilliant looking pics here. The winning shot is from my home area, I really didn't expect to see Port Glasgow mentioned on DG.
Those tenements are apparently the longest run of tenement buildings in the UK. They're awaiting demolition now.
Thanks for the tip, DG. Went to see them the other day. Personally, I thought the winner was one of the worst photo's on display.
Popped in yesterday - it's become a tradition now on a seasonal jaunt to London.

The photographs were as stunning as ever.
