The "airy chamber" link goes to the same photo as the "inverted pyramid" link.

OMG that is what you call a library.

We've had a great library in Norwich for ten years now. Thought to be the busiest library in the country, it was built as a millenium project after the earlier library was burnt down.
It has become a great centre for all sorts of activities and lives up to its name of 'The Forum'.

I think this is brilliant but mainly because it has new books. I used to love libraries but science, technology and even things such as our knowledge of historical events move on so for me most libraries are outdated because the books are outdated.

You can no doubt guess what's on the ground floor. Well I guessed but I thought the answer would be the gift shop.

Please add Google Map so I can see how to get there, where it is in CW? Thanks.

A few clues to where the library might be:
» The first link in the post is to the library's homepage, which has the address, a list of local transport options and a link to a map.
» It's "on the waterside by Canada Water tube station"

ooh, and while Southwark aren't in the London Libraries Consortium, their membership is open to all. Excellent

Actually, my local library is exactly as nice...

I'm pleased to say this is my local library and it's great. There was even a short queue to get in at opening time on Sunday.

popartist - Ooh, I was just about to mention the library in Norwich; you've beaten me to it!

It's actually been the most popular library in the country for five years now, and the library service as a whole issues more items per head than any of the other shire counties. It's quite spectacular.

Those nice library folk are on Twitter and Facebook, if you're into those sorts of new-fangled things.

It's a rare occasion when tax payers' money is well spent but this is one of them.

I was skeptical of this project, given how tired and small the Rotherhithe library is and Southwark Council's reputation for money wasting (e.g. expensive shiny office next door to the London Assembly). However, they've pulled off an absolute corker here.

It's spacious yet retains a cosy feel amongst the shelves - very well executed. There's a great selection of books - facilities not dominated by computers, DVD's etc. just very well balanced. There really is something for everyone.

Superb location - I suspect the vast majority of local residents go near the Tube station very frequently, so no excuses for late returns!

10/10 - Bravo!
