Hope you're not going to 'pontificate' - we don't want the stuff you're deflecting over here.

good luck and good hunting!

From the strangely tacky top of Centrepoint (sort it out Stephen Fry) I could see the popey goodness severely clogging the buses.

Merton Civic Centre was originally called "Crown House " when it was built in about 1963/1964 and was a private office block, the triangular shaped lower building in front was clad in exactly the same colour as the taller building behind, the lower front building when brand new was originally opened as a supermarket called "Caters" and traded very successfully for many years at this location.
I believe that Merton Council only took over the site when it sold of its original Town Hall in Wimbledon which became "Centre Court " shopping centre, when Crown House was new anyone could wander in from the street and take the lift to the top floor as there was no such thing as security guards, I know all this as I was working for "Caters" after leaving school in 1965 for the princly sum of £7 per week wages, fond memories.
