"Keep your bank account topped up for a month."

Surely this only applies if you have a direct debit set up to pay off the credit card bill in total each month.

Charging for the sailing is causing huge amounts of GRRRR in Weymouth.
I've suggested that we all turn up at the venue - ticketless, only one, narrow access road - each and every day until they get cross.

I am SO glad that I have no desire to attend any of these events.

The whole process is a bit ryanairish...

Having no interest in attending the sports events, although hope to visit the site, maybe they will have "Wembley Stadium" style tours before or after the Olympics.
I may watch the runners in Richmond Park. That is free.

Don't try to "withdraw your application". The system won't then let you reapply for the same session that you withdrew (e.g. if you applied for one thing, then realised you wanted to apply for more than one).
It's clearly a bug, so maybe they'll fix it.
You can reapply (with the same name and address) if you've got another visa card.

If I wanted to go to any of the events I would be annoyed.

The Useless Committee has excelled itself this time.

Reading all these numerous posts and comments about London 2012. I can now understand why FIFA did not let the World Cup take place in the UK.

I think I'll be leaving London for the duration thanks.

It was the same here in SA for the world cup in a country with limited computer access all tickets had to be purchased onlne, FIFA had my money for almost 12 months befor the match. Only when they realised that the stadiums would be half full did they start selling direct to the public. London will probably be the same

Remember this if half the events have empty stands. I've no interest in attending any of it really, unless they can get me in by helicopter to watch the 100 metres final and get me out by helicopter again afterwards for about £15. So they can keep it.

What a typical load of Gilbert & Sullivan-ish British bureaucratic OCD rot. Just sell the tickets and let all sell them on and get a bloody life Mr and Mrs Olympics, whoever you are.

I never dreamed that a major sporting event could be awarded to my country and that I'd end up having no interest whatsoever in attending, but there you go.

So I presume if you end up doing number 5, you'll still be out of pocket, thanks to number 4.
I'm with the others. What started out as a wonderful experience has been soured by blooming bureaucracy.

I wonder if the French aren't hooting with delight that they didn't get this awful palaver!

7) Smile, some events are free..... The sailing in Weymouth harbour is free (unless you want to sit on the grass in what's normally a public park beside a video screen).

Errr No. The IOC hate sailing because they have not worked out how to make people pay to to watch it. At Weymouth a large public park on a peninsula (The Nothe) will be closed off and turned into a paying grandstand with the key events taking place beneath it.

But that is still to be determined by the Council....

give it a rest with this olmpics stuff you are just helping that little dick coe with it all
no one cares
