Glad you enjoyed the Roman ruins. Did you get to the CIrcus Maximus (mostly empty but huge) just the other side of the Palatine? Or the Capitoline Museum? Ara Pacis? One of the baths? Or the Bocca della Verita? Piazza Navona?
DG I am so glad you were thrilled by Rome. For your sake, obviously, but also because it is good to read a travel article by one so enthusiastic. I look forward to a bit more.
but how are the bus stops in Bow?
It is a stunning City - unlike anywhere else I've been. Nice to have a photographic reminder with shots that are better than the ones I took when I was there a few years ago.
Great photos, thank you for sharing, amazing places to visit, incredible architecture, and history..
I saw Rome back in the 1970's, but as you say it's like living with history.
Great photos by the way, brought back some fantastic memories.
When these buildings were in use we in northern Europe were living in mud huts.
Note to self: Writing about Rome for a week is a great way to shed readers. More tomorrow, then.
your readers are not in their sheds
Was amazed to find that a bottle of water in the shop only cost one euro (presumably water prices are capped?)

The restaurant opposite was also reasonably priced

Until we went I assumed that Rome was an expensive city
