Thanks for saving me wasting my time this weekend. The only bit I'm interested in is the public roof gardens to see some of the views. I bet in time, they realise that's the only bit that draws a lot of visitors and then it will be changed so you'll only be able to visit the roof if you're a paying cafe/restaurant user.

Cuboid it most definitely is not.

Re pubs at Bread St/Watling St intersection, White Bear, The Dandy Roll? They disappeared about 10 years ago when 33 & 25 Cannon Street were developed. Not really missed, they were both pretty nasty bars.

Totally beyond my budget then!

Sounds like we were there at the same time on Thur. I went back again today to see it in daylight. Not really impressed with the layout - lots of blind alleys and inconvenient walkarounds. Feels like they could have used the space a bit better. The roof terrace is definitely worth the wait - I've had a look round. But it's a bit smaller than you might imagine, and sure to be crowded at weekends.

I was tempted to go to St Pauls on Thursday. It shows how life in the City has changed over the past few years - not that long ago, a shopping centre wouldnt have been considered. Remember the waste of space in Aldgate East?

@Stephen - You mean Aldgate Barrs?

This totally nails it, and explains why I had such a bad year in London.

My dorm was a couple blocks off of Bishopsgate, on Crispin St. And that entire area is just DEAD on weekends. Nothing. The Tesco closes at 6PM, and there is nowhere else to buy groceries. No nightlife. Nothing whatsoever.

Then again, the bars closed and the supermarkets stopped selling booze at 11PM everywhere else I went, so I suppose comparatively I wasn't that bad-off.

I can see you in Superdry clothing though. Have a look at their website and choose a look.

It's just a mall.
