I am glad I visited the area last year, so you post is put into context. However I was underwhelmed by it all though and the only highlight was the excellent breakfast in the View Tube.
As a local who often takes visiting friends up the Orbit I was very pleased to find on my last visit that they now extend the availability of your entrance ticket so that it becomes valid for a whole year, for someone like myself who is "up there" every other month it saves me a fortune.
Not boring at all but a very interesting update onthe site.
Had breakfast at View Tube a few weeks ago on a cold, dank February Sat morning, and it was packed by 11am. So I assume they're fine. Breakfast was delicious too.
I see from an ad in the Newham Recorder that there is another public consultation for Strand East coming up on the 15th and 18th April. After the last one - some years ago now - we returned with our kids laden down with themed cupcakes and colouring pencils (we still have some of the latter). Maybe this time round with something clearly happening on site more people will attend.

Not a gardener but feel sad every time I go past the pristine new build allotments. Hate to imagine what people on the waiting list feel about them.

DG you've mentioned 2 of the high rise developments going up in that area. To the best of my knowlwdge there are at least 5 more in the pipeline. Utter crap!
When I click on the first 5 gallery photos of the new Pudding Mill Lane DLR Station from the 2014 blog article that you have linked to here, I am greeted with a 404. Could you fix the links please? Thanks!
Hi Anonymous @6.16

As I mentioned earlier in the week, if Flickr decides to change its underlying code, ten years of past links might go wrong.

In this case I need to go back and attempt to tweak ten years' worth of galleries. Maybe one day.
The triangular floodlights are being installed in the new roof, though you'll have to be in the stadium to see them. Here's the webcam link: www.lobstervision.tv/queenelizabetholympicpark
Strand East is the IKEAville development, isn't it? Where is the East London Science School, the new secondary currently in the Clock Mill in Pudding Mill Lane, is going to end up? It will need more room very soon, and I don't see any space allocated for schools in amongst the sensitively designed IKEA Danish-style live-work boutique hotel yada yada spaces. Must check out the public consultations.
As author of the linked blog on the greenway, I'd like to point out that half the problem with the detour to the south of the Olympic Park is that it's not signposted at all (no, tiny print maps do not count). Although the diversion itself is crap in its own right, true.
