The Soane is one of London's great hidden (albeit hidden out in the open) treasures.

Love the place - and their occasional lectures are well worth the time spent, even if the subject matter can be obscure.

Absolutely love this museum. Had never heard of it before seeing Isaac Julien's sumptuous film as part of the Turner Prize back in 2001. Have visited the museum a number of times since.

There's also a short video of Ian Hislop talking about their Hogarth collection.

Love this place, from the paintings unfolding in front of your eyes to the salon upstairs that - surely - his good wife insisted had to remain peaceful and uncluttered.

Yes, this museum is a gem, one of those completely unique places. Thank goodness it's been saved.
