To me people should be allowed to decide themselves what to do for Christmas. Some may decide to go ahead as normal, others may scale back their Christmas celebrations.
With all the news about Covid, it seems like most Londoners have gone into a pre Christmas self isolation over the past few days anyway to avoid jeopardising Christmas with their family. This should lower the amount of spread that occurs on Christmas Day itself and indeed the rate of increase in London is now slowing down. |

It's possible to do Christmas carefully, with frequent home testing if elderly family members are present. No need to lockdown everyone
