Isle of Man quiz answers
The first five answers are all 'b'.
The last five answers are all 'd'.

6 out of 10
7/10. Shows the island I dwell on is not the IoM.
Either the question or answer to 10 is wrong. There is a basic rate and a higher rate. The higher rate is 20%.

dg writes: Noted, thanks. Question updated.
6/10. Would have been a lot lower if I hadn't googled IoM yesterday.
8/10 Not bad.
8/10. Had the top tax rate as 10% and was way off on the size. Not bad for pre-morning cuppa.
Nine; so glad I never have to go there any more. Beautiful landscape but otherwise a hideous experience. The exorbitant air fares were the nasty icing on the cake.
7/10 Visited once with a friend whose family lived there. Nice landscape, shame about the rest of it.
8/10. Well I liked it, on my one visit. Trouble is there's so many other fascinating places in the world, else I'd probably have gone again. As well as the views, I enjoyed the trams and the trains. I'm hoping DG will "mention" these.
Very expensive to go by ship in June for the TT Races. One rider and motorcycle return from the UK...£210.00. The shipping line is known as the Isle of Man Steam (p)Racket Company.
9/10. I'd guessed (2) wrong.

OK, I checking the detail on my Douglas (and relays) | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice the other day.
9/10 - caught out by question #6!
9/10 - got the tax question wrong. Visited four years ago and really enjoyed it. Outside the TT season the ferry from Liverpool isn't too expensive.
Glad you're going to "drone on" as I only got 4/10 so obviously need to learn more about the island!
8/10 but I cheated on no.2 and looked at a map, otherwise I'd have guessed Ireland ... wow a third of the size of London, that is SMALL

dg writes: Actually, I suspect Greater London is much bigger than people think.
A lowly 4. The nearest I got to visiting was in 1981, for the Manx GP*... but plans changed as soon as my travelling companion made enquiries about the ferry and told me the price of the fares [for a bike + 2].
!? "But we could go to the continent for less than half of that!" I spluttered
So that's what we did.
(little has changed)

*More bike racing, but lower profile than the TT: held each September
9/10 - got number 2 wrong.
10/10 :-)
10/10
6 / 10

I think it's rather good for someone who's NEITHER from Britain NOR having the information checked up before attempting.
6/10. 3 of those just lucky guess, 3 educated guess.
