It must have been difficult to take a photograph of a bunch of mirrors without revealing your identity! Well done for managing (I think) to remain out of shot!
In the middle of the picture, there is someone's leg in jeans (I think) :)
It's the Total Perspective Vortex!!
Welcome to the world of Aging DG!

BTW - those 'cowslips' in your shot of the bank between the Park and the Energy Centre are actually a type of multi-headed narcissus. Possibly a 'cyclamen' type. Nice shot though.
Ah yes...the infamous "sharp internal jolt as my body revealed itself as almost 50, rather than barely 40"

Wait until you've added another decade or two (or three!) to those figures.

Still...you had your youth, if it was not used wisely all you can now do is quickly make up for it.
Alot of QEOP reminds me of Milton Keynes for some reason? The trying so hard at creating nice public spaces with trees and "art". In the main areas most likely in will be o.k. But if "New Towns" have shown as anything it is that all the planning and design can make a positive difference though can also have unwanted and unintended effects.
I get the "old and knackered internal jolt" using the bathroom mirror :-) No need for a visit to the QEOP for that.
You obviously haven't used a department store changing room recently have you! Same effect I'm afraid!
...and there is nothing like a lovely British summer to make that "jolt" feel even sharper as us oldies wander around this youthful expanse of a city.
"I felt a sharp internal jolt" , yep... that about sums it up. It's mostly because we become innured to the single mirror we've grown used to. But still, it gives one thought.
